Many pro-Darwinian philosophers and scientists are now beginning to unsubscribe from his materialistic view of how the universe and life came to being. His theory, though had some merits in terms of how evolution is one of the grand transcendent laws, it is inadequate to explain how a finely tuned universe came to existence without guided intelligence behind it. These scientists begin to doubt Darwin’s theory because it is unable to account for the existence of the mind and consciousness, which we all know exist though we can’t explain them scientifically.

I’m certain that like religion once bowed down and accepted the earth revolves around the sun after science provided ample evidence, there will come a time spiritual scientists who acknowledge mind, consciousness, and the Creator of these, could be able to tap into the wisdom that isn’t available at matter or brain level- materialistic level- to explain the mind, consciously, and God in such a way that even materialistic scientists, even if they may not believe in God at all, will bow down to the existence of non-form universes beyond this physical universe where mind and consciousness operate.

There may even come a time in the future scientists may believe in miracles. The latter isn’t magic. Miracles can be explained though we don’t yet have scientific models to do so. For now, let’s consider miracles as the products of mind/consciousness overriding the physical laws.

The time will come where spiritual scientists (who knows you could be one of such future scientists) could be able to provide humanity ‘miracles’ powerful than what natural science has been offering by just following only the physical laws and depending on materialistic processes.

If you’ve got a scientific mind, don’t leash it. Using your mind to investigate and bring forth discoveries that explain the laws God used to create and sustain this universe isn’t against God. He gave you your mind, He then won’t punish you for using it You can still believe in mind, consciousness, tap into the quantum and spiritual universes that are outside of the detection of our physical sense to advance your scientific discoveries. Especially if that is your call and burden. Science and spirituality aren’t mutually exclusive.

I asked a while back a colleague of mine who confesses that he is an atheist: “How come it doesn’t bother you that there are overwhelming evidences concerning the existence of an intelligent being behind creation?” His answer stunned me! He said, ‘I rather prefer simplicity. It’s easier for me to believe that the universe and life came to existence from nothing than to accept a complex scenario where there is a white, old, angry guy who sits on a throne in the sky somewhere and adamant to burn people alive forever if they sinned.’

My answer was “I’d have taken the same position as yours if your description of God was accurate.” I explained to him that the God behind this gigantic and intelligent being, the giver of life, the God who created us after His own image isn’t close to what religion sold to us.

If you are struggling like my colleague, my advice for you is that, though it may not be as simple as believing life and an intelligent universe came to existence from nothing, it worths spending time and energy to get to know the true God who:

• Is love!
• Gave us the will to decide how we spend our life and the unlimited potential resources He made available for each one of us.
• Went the extra mile to come to our level in the physical universe, the Word became flesh, taking our likeness as a man- Jesus, to reacquaint Himself, express His love in person by going to the extent of giving His life as a way to demonstrate His unwavering love to humanity regardless of our race, ethnicity, religious background, and socioeconomic status.
• Doesn’t have ego nor envy if we become like Him.
• Cannot wait to see His kids grow and fulfill their glorious destiny. The God who vowed to make Himself available 24/7 in spirit if we need Him (if we ask, knock, seek).
• Made available everything we need to empower us to become one with Him, well beyond time and space, in eternity.
• And so on…

More than this gigantic universe that we haven’t yet able to see with our bare eyes (with the aid of powerful mega telescopes) fully, though truly vast, the spiritual universe we can only see with our inner eye when our external eyes are closed is more vast, powerful, and real. In the latter universe is where we will be able to find God and fellowship with celestial beings, as the Kingdom of God is within us.

Let’s stop searching for Him in the outside world where He doesn’t reside. Humans are the only temples of the Divine. Let’s find and communicate with Him inwardly, which doesn’t cost you anything. You don’t need to have a PhD or go to a Theological college. You’re built to exit from the physical universe, by lowering your brain’s waves, at will and with ease. You just need to dedicate time to do it regularly, to be calm and know that He is God, and to learn how to quiet your brain.

God is closer than our breath. What is more? To succeed in this world, we are in but not of it, we need to fellowship with God. Otherwise, we are incomplete and will never attain our individual and corporate fulfillment.

When we were designed, though He endowed us with unlimited potential and authority, which we haven’t yet even scratched, He also left a vacuum no one, no material, nothing satisfy.

Let the search and waiting to be over by just shutting your eyes and communion with the One who promised to open if we knock, to be found if we seek, and answer if we ask. It is as simple as that. Religion complicates it.

Don’t fall for that. Begin this rewarding journey now wherever you may be on the spiritual continuum.

There is no worldview that doesn’t depend on ‘faith’. We, humans, are dependent on faith, small or grand, more than any other creation. Our spiritual nature predisposes us to first have faith before we commit ourselves, especially for grand undertakings.

Think about this. You won’t even get up in the morning while feeling sleepy unless you have faith to do so. You won’t get to the bathroom unless you have some form of faith that your shower works. These are little things that require little subconscious level faith.

However, we need a larger dose of faith when we come out of our comfort zone to take on the bigger stuff. We have to consciously make a choice based on what we believe, whether our choice is correct in the grand scheme of things or not. We couldn’t have accomplished great things so far, personally and collectively, if it hadn’t been to our faith in the first place.

You may be surprised, even atheists, who despised ‘believers’ for having ‘blind faith’, must have a lot of faith to believe that non-life (mere matter) evolved by itself to life without the guidance of intelligence (mind) behind it.

If you ask me, it takes a lesser faith to believe that there exists God behind creation who called with His creative Words as though those things that hadn’t existed to being than to believe this sophisticated, fine-tuned, and life-sustaining universe came from nothing and by itself from out of nowhere.

Of course, we don’t have an adequate explanation from atheists who espouse this theory what that nothing looks like? Is it just an empty space? What was that nothing that somehow birthed this universe forth? How and when did the process began and to what end? And many more questions. That is why it takes a more powerful faith to believe such a theory. No wonder why one scientist said, science buried atheism than God

The more our mind evolves and with it science, it is hard to believe that there is no higher intelligence behind this highly organized intelligent universe. This is my belief that there will come a time where spiritual scientists who have enough faith, who evolved spiritually, will be able to explain in scientific terms and using believable models acceptable by even those skeptic minds how the universe came to being through the guidance of an intelligent Creator.

There is no-thing (matter) that doesn’t matter. If we cannot explain the purpose of a given creation, whether it was originally created by the Universal Mind or human mind, it doesn’t mean it is purposeless. The question shouldn’t be whether a thing has purpose or not. Finding out its purpose should be our preoccupation.

The intelligence (Universal Mind) that brought forth and indwell in these matters that exist in the physical universe doesn’t do things haphazardly. It has always purpose in mind whether we know it yet or not. However, I’ve to admit. It is overwhelming, though may not be impossible, to discover the purposes of all God’s creations and the innovations of the human mind.

The question is, at least, do you know your calling (your soul’s assignment) in this generation, time, and space? We may not ever be able to know everything in this universe, individually during our lifetime nor collectively throughout generations, let alone the purpose behind every creation. However, we should at least discover, follow, and fulfill our own purpose in life. Do you know your calling? Have you begun the journey of your soul? What are the challenges? How can we help you?

We are getting there. We will outlast this damn virus soon.

It was dark this time last year. Now, we see a light at the end of the tunnel.

We, humans, are still in charge in this universe. Nothing, let alone a microbial, will be able to erase the grand purpose God has for His images in the physical universe. We are too powerful, maybe even too dangerous, without even yet evolving enough.

With a little evolution we have experienced so far in our mind (which allowed us to invent science and use it for our advantages, sometimes, of course, for our own demise), we have come a long way.

Can you imagine where we would be if we evolved, reformed, and come close to the likeness of God by evolving spiritually in our soul?

The point is, even with our rudimentary and incomplete evolution, we can beat any creation what so ever they become evolved and remain vicious. They can only evolve physically in their body with a subconscious intelligence that operates in them.

For us, with our unique frontal lobe, the portal for our conscious mind that in turn connects with the unlimited quantum universe, and with our soul that resides in our heart- the hardware, which also maintains a connection with God and the spiritual world, we are unstoppable by anything, let alone COVID19

God is perfect. He is ‘outside of space and time’ where no one in space time and time could fully describe nor experience Him. There are no words, symbols, analogies, nor metaphors that can accurately explain Him, His intentions, and how He operates. If you ever attempt to do so, what you came up with, what so ever impressive it maybe earthly speaking, it cannot be God. God is indescribable, limitless, and full of potential.

So far you may follow me. I’m afraid, some may lose me quickly when I say our soul is perfect, pure, limitless, and full of potential like God- the Father of all spirits. Of course, before our soul emerged from God, from eternity to time, and from the same spiritual universe God resides into the temporal physical universe.

What is more? When she finishes her earthly assignment starting from redemption by passing through restoration and ultimately reformation, you will say boldly like Jesus, it’s finished; like Paul, I’m finished my race. Your soul cannot wait to become one with God for you to say, what is my Father is mine; He is in me and I in Him.

I understand that this could be too much for some to process and take it in one dose. Take time, pray, meditate, and reflect on it. No rush… Though you are in this world, you’re not off this world. Though you are in time and space in your body, you are already in eternity and spiritual universe as your redeemed soul maintains contact with the headquarter.

Don’t worry where your soul is on this holiest and godliest spectrum. Wherever your soul may be on the evolutionary continuum before she becomes one with God and reunite without losing her uniqueness, keep going. The Father in you is the one who will do the work necessary as far as you are willing to obey Him and your ego submits to the soul.

You will finish your race as the everlasting Kingdom is in you. You are the temple of God. The Kingdom provides what your soul needs to fulfill her journey from Redemption to Restoration, and ultimately Reformation. You have also in you the great Teacher, who will guide you to all the truth, Holy Spirit! Him as your teacher, mentor, and guide, you won’t lose.

One question that frequently surfaces whenever I facilitate Emotional Intelligence workshops for leaders is the struggle some leaders have to balance between showing empathy and fulfilling their leadership obligations by making some of their team members accountable. They lament saying that ‘I really empathize with my people. However, some of my team members are failing to meet their obligations even if I kept giving them multiple opportunities to catch up.’ And, they ask, how can I lead the team successfully to meet our goals while demonstrating empathy to those who are struggling to perform without demoralizing other team members who are performing?

There is no simple answer to this bugging question because each team differs. I cannot give them a magical formula that works everywhere and every time. Acknowledging the challenge, however, I always encourage leaders to make sure to keep the balance between taking care of their people and delivering results. Leaders who take care of their people at the expense of results and vice versa find themselves struggling in the long term. Leaders are put in place for strong reasons. Though they must take care of their people, at the end of the day, they must deliver and meet organizational goals. To succeed in this sticky position, especially in times like this, leaders should develop the right mindset, competencies, and character that allow them to keep the balance: Take care of their people and also meet their goals at the same time.

Successful leaders have the right mindset about empathy. They strongly believe that they have to put themselves in the place of their people, especially in those who are struggling. They also develop some emotional competencies to understand theirs and the emotions of others by listening actively and then demonstrating compassion giving ample space and support to those who may be facing challenges to fulfill their obligations. These successful leaders with high empathy also have a solid character where they have principles and consistency to meet their obligation for both the organization and its people.

I insist that it is possible to demonstrate empathy without dereliction of duties. Recently, I shared the observation of the biographer of Abraham Lincoln. She acknowledged his exceptional empathy and asserted that this same quality allowed him, though underdog, to become President and remain one of the greatest. She noted that Abe empathized with his rivals and in the process understood them very well that he was able to prepare himself better to beat them Regardless of his exceptional empathy, however, when it came to his duty, he didn’t shy away from declaring war to defend the union. I can imagine the pain he had gone through knowing the lives that were going to be impacted. You don’t need to be a President to keep the balance. You may not face Abe’s kind of decisions, however, wherever you may be right now, you can keep the balance between empathizing and making your people accountable. It is challenging but doable.

Right now, think about Jesus- the exceptionally compassionate leader of all time, who was willing to defend His followers and willing to die for them. Regardless of His extraordinary servant leadership style and selfless character, He never wavered from challenging and making His disciples accountable while still loving and caring for them. On many occasions, rather than joining the emotional states of His followers, He chose to lift them up to the emotional state where He was in. For instance, He could have given His disciples, who were scared to death of the storm, a pass but He didn’t. He knew that they had what it takes to rebuke and quiet a ‘storm’.

If you’re a leader, are you demonstrating empathy while fulfilling your obligations? Don’t fall into this trap: Empathy can be misused to derelict one’s leadership responsibilities. You should also know that people who don’t make themselves accountable can also abuse it. I shared some approaches for my audience to try to make sure that they keep the balance. If you’re a follower, have you earned empathy? Don’t demand it; earn it. If you’ve been working hard and performing when you could, you earned the empathy of your leader when you need a break.

Ask Jesus and He will tell you that the most expensive item in the physical universe is the soul. Don’t trust your body’s voice in the mental world, your ego. It only thinks that reality is what can be percieved with the sense organs that are feeding it with barages of information. He thinks everything is all about the universe and the body that it represents while residing in the mental world. Very limited in its scope and perspectives.

Don’t believe people who may not have any clue about their own eternal assignment, let alone to help you figure out yours 🙂

Listen to the majestic being, which resides in your spirit. Your soul emerged from eternity to time, according to the Divine timeline, not for mundane cause. Your cause isn’t what you, your ego, think. It isn’t based on who you think you’re, and your physical conditions and abilities in the past or now. It isn’t based on what other people think you are and what they think you should do with your life.

Take time to pray, meditate, and visualize until you come in contact with your purpose. When you discover it, you will know it. It isn’t something you invent. It is not to benefit you alone. It isn’t also to feed your ego, and what the world thinks is popular and acceptable. It is bigger than you. It will benefits a greater number of people well beyound yourslef and the people you care about.

Once you discover it, honor the very cause that caused your soul to emerge from God to time and space in this generation at this time! Demonstrate commitment till it is fulfilled.

The rest isn’t your job. Ask Jesus, who had the most challenging generational assignment that required to die on a cross the most shameful manner, and He will gladly break the news to you that the Father in you, the Father of all spirits, will do the work. You are His vessel and Ambassador. His Kingdom resides in you.

You cannot accomplish the assignment of your soul, the mandate your soul accepted from God, with your body, mind, and earthly resources alone. You need the engagement of the Spiritual universe and celestial beings in It.

Make sure you constantly grow spiritually to be used, to remain connected with the Spiritual universe, and collaborate with God and His companions to fulfill the mandate of the soul…
